FAQs

  • Wheel rating standards are essential for ensuring safety and reliability in the automotive industry. The SAE, JWL, and VIA standards are among the most comprehensive and widely recognized in the field. At 41 Forged, we subject our wheels to rigorous testing according to these standards, guaranteeing that you receive a high-quality wheel. All of our wheels are JWL & VIA certified.

    JWL Ratings

The Japanese Light Alloy Wheel (JWL) standard is primarily used by Japanese manufacturers and is similar to the SAE system, with additional testing requirements. JWL testing includes the same assessments as SAE ratings, along with a roundness test to ensure the wheels are free from deformities.

A key difference between JWL and SAE ratings is that JWL requires manufacturers to have their wheels inspected and approved by a certified third-party lab, ensuring the credibility and consistency of the ratings.

    VIA Ratings

The Vehicle Inspection Association (VIA), a non-profit organization established in Japan in 1987, bases its standards on the JWL criteria. The VIA standard is highly regarded in the automotive industry and mandates that manufacturers adhere to strict guidelines when producing wheels. To achieve VIA certification, wheel manufacturers must follow VIA's design specifications and undergo comprehensive testing to meet specific quality standards.

  • POWDER COATING FINISHES

We offer several powder coat options. These strong finishes distinguish themselves in the industry with their depth, uniformity, and impeccably smooth texture. While solid powder lacks transparency, it comes in both glossy and matte variations for each color. Solid finishes offer exceptional durability, strength, and a wide array of color options.

    BRUSHED / POLISHED FINISHES

A brushed or polished finish involves a transparent layer of powder coat in various colors applied over a meticulously crafted brushed or polished aluminum surface. The chosen color allows the details of the wheels to stand out in the sunlight, giving them a more luxurious appearance and feel.

These finishes often add manufacturing time to the order.
